PANCHAKARMA
Panchakarma is a group of specialized body-systems cleaning procedures. This is the boon from Ayurveda to mankind for a long and healthy life.
Accordingly to the eminent scholars of Ayurved Charak, Sushrut & Vagbhat Panchkarm is an integral part of Ayurved. They have given assurance that if the disease is treated with proper panchakarma procedure, it is cured permanently.
This panchakarma treatment is targeted primarily on tri dosha (Three doshas viz. Vata, Pitta, Kapha). These three doshas are responsible for good health when in equilibrium and create disease when this equilibrium is disturbed. Snehan – (Oleation)
The process by means by which oiliness, and subtleness are created in the body is called senhan. In this process, external (massage) and internal use of oil and ghee (clarified butter) are performed. In the conditions like paralysis, arthritis, vatrog, alcoholism, Oligospermia, Insomnia, gynecological complaints, urinary stone, pregnancy, and sterility, snehan gives very good results.
Swedan
Process of sweating – The body’s waste products are removed via sweat. For this purpose, Steam-Box, Nadiyantra, etc. are used. The disease has vat-Kapha origin, chronic rhinitis – cough, asthma, spondylosis, arthritis, urinary calculus, hemiplegias – paraplegias, sciatica, rigidity in the body – these are some symptoms in which Swedan proves to be very effective.
Vedhan
Vedhan is a procedure similar to acupuncture but has conceptual rules in Ayurvedic texts. This novel treatment is effectively used in pain management. According to Ayurvedic scriptures like Sushrut Sanhita, certain vital points in our body are related to specific diseases like osteoarthritis, sciatica, spondylosis, calcaneal spur, and many more. By means of the insertion of tiny needles pain gateway is blocked. Therefore without any medicines or surgery, many difficult diseases can be resolved.
Vaman
To induce vomiting with the scientific method is called vaman. Vaman removes excess kaph dosh from our bodies. So the disease having origine in excess –Kaph is cured immediately. Asthma, chronic, rhinitis, hyperacidity, loss of appetite, all skin diseases, tuberculosis, hypercholesterolemia, etc. are the disease that benefit from the Vaman.
Virechana
Removing body waste products through the anus by the process of purgation is called virechana. This treatment is prominently for pitta-vitiated diseases. Soft vivechan is indicated for Vata diseases also. Urdhvag raktapitta (Bleeding tendencies from the upper part of the body), anaemia, herpes infections, spleen disorders, body oedema, haemorrhoid, ascites, semen disorders, ophthalmic, conditions worm infestations are benefited with virechana.
Basti
Putting certain decoctions, oils, and ghee in the body through the anus. This is the most recommended karma in all diseases by Ayurved scholars. Diseases in which basti is the most useful tool are –Recurrent pyrexia, kidney ailments with calculus, etc. lumbar – cervical spondylosis, fistula in ano, anorectal complaints, ulcerative colitis, chronic constipation, heart- disease, menstrual problems, slip disc, etc.
Nasya
Administrating certain liquid medicines in the nose is called Nasya. Diseases appearing above the level of the shoulder are benefited from this nasya. Also, epilepsy, DNS, hypertrophied turbinates, sinusitis speech-related problems, eye diseases, ear problems, hair complaints like hair fall and greying migraines, etc. show good very good improvement after nasya treatment.
Rakta Mokshan
Removing blood from the body is raktamokshan. This process can be performed in two ways. (a) Directly from blood vessels around 75 to 100 ml of blood is removed from a vein (a blood vessel carrying impure blood) with a disposable, sterile needle. (b) Jalaukavacharan (Leech application) – Leeches suck impure blood from the lesion or the desired area. Raktamokshan is recommended for these diseases- All blood born diseases, skin diseases, tumors, abscesses, pimples, whole body burning, headache, joint pain, hand-foot cracking, the chronic tendency of nasal bleeding, etc.
Shirodhara
Medicated warm oil is poured in a fashion of continuous stream for approx 20 minutes on the area between two eyebrows. This is the ultimate treatment for stress-related disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, depression, anxiety, neurosis, psychoses, schizophrenia, insomnia, etc. Also, the ailments of the nervous system like Parkinson’s disease, cerebral atrophy, and Mental retardness are well. treated with Shirodhara treatment.
Netrabasti
A structure prepared from wheat & did dal flour as Shawn in the picture is arranged around the eye. Medicated, sterile ghee is poured within this structure and the patient is asked to blink their eyelids slowly. This is very soothing to the eyes. Strengthens the eyeball muscles, improves vision & cures tendencies of allergy like chronic conjunctivitis, etc. This treatment is also useful in trigeminal neuralgia, ptosis, retinal detachment, diminished night vision, increasing refractive errors ( Increase in spectacle number), etc.
Agnikarma
Cauterization on the skin with special probes prepared from gold, silver, iron, copper, etc. is known as Agni karma. After this procedure medicated ghee, honey, and aloe vera can be applied for a soothing, cooling effect. This is the most powerful & effective treatment for pain-relief purposes And often the pain disappears permanently. In case of osteoarthritis, spondylosis, sciatica, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, or spur this is just a fantastic treatment.
